A REVOLUTION OF POSITIVE CHANGE
Posted by anguillameasuredprogress on September 17, 2009
Your APP has launched a REVOLTION OF POSITIVE CHANGE across Anguilla’s political landscape.
Several APP candidates are also seemingly doing very well in at least 3 of 5 ridings that they are presently contesting.
Some also hold that should the necessary work be done APP can form an out right next Anguilla Government.
What thinkest you?
Also at the Landsome rally your APP was very confident:

APP Leadership:
First, let me state my appreciation for your willingness to document and publish your positions so that the general public can get a sense of what to expect from an APP administration. Following, are some questions I would like to get APP’s response to:
1. Does APP believe there is a relationship between sustainable socio-economic development and land-use planning and control? Explain.
2. Does APP believe there is a relationship between sustainable socio-economic development and population growth? Explain.
3. What policy or policies would an APP administration employ that will reflect your answers to questions 1 and 2 above?

Thanks for the question Mr. Rogers
Yes APP believes that there is a direct relationship between sustainable socio-economic development and land-use planning and control. In a small island state where land is limited such as Anguilla this is critical to the future development. It is also important to balance these plans in line with population growth and projecions. App promotes the concept of long term planning which outlines a clear and realistic development plan for the entire island which we will reveal very soon. We will outline specific area plans for all districts in Anguilla. We look forward to your ideas and input on this subject as we are aware that this is an area where you have tremendous expertise. We look forward to working with you to share our plans and to benefit from you and other capable Anguillians at home and abroad. Thanks again, talk to you soon and we will get more indebth.

Thanks for your responses to my questions. I look forward to learning about the specific area plans APP is planning to reveal very soon. In terms of some of my ideas and input on the subject I would refer you to three articles I wrote in the Anguillian Newspaper back in January, February and March. I intend to complete that series of articles when time permits. The purpose of the series of articles is to give some foundational information on the main tools that are needed and to give an overview of the process. A review of those articles should reveal that I am more focus on having the necessary tools and the process in place than on specific ideas. Obviously, I have specific ideas of how I would like to develop land that is under my direct control and I have a clear sense of what I consider to be compatible and non-compatible land uses but the process is far more important than anyone person’s specific ideas. It is the process that will get all the ideas to the table. It will be the process that will allow the best ideas to come to the surface. It will be the process that will allow us to build consensus around the best ideas. It will be the process that will allow us to be united around a set of common goals. It will be the process that will reveal the vision. And it will be the process that will generate the individual and collective will to accomplish the vision. I’m a firm believer that none of us is smarter than all of us. I also believe that leaders must lead and to accomplish that leaders should create clear paths so that people can follow.
I hope you find the referenced articles of interest. Feel free to ask/discuss any areas of concern. Thanks.
